Qualifying Process & Procedures

Below you will find information on qualifying for the WFC and Futures WFC events for 2019

World Fastpitch Championships/Futures World Fastpitch Championships

Qualifying Process

  1. Teams will qualify for the World Fastpitch Championships & Futures WFC through approved USA Elite Select National Qualifying tournaments. 

  2. Berths Available:

    1. WFC: 

      1. 16U/18U - Maximum 48 teams per age group will be awarded World Fastpitch Championship berths 

      2. 10U/12U/14U - Maximum 64 teams per age group will be awarded World Fastpitch Championship berths

    2. Futures WFC:  Futures Berths are not capped for the event, but space is limited to 128 teams for the event in these age divisions (9U/11U/13U)

  3. Direct Berth Process

    1. World Fastpitch Championships:

      1. One Berth Events:  Event winners will be the only team who would be eligible for a World Fastpitch Championship berth at our national qualifying tournaments offering one berth per age class. (No berths will be passed down)

      2. Two Berth Events:  Event winners and Runner-Up will be the only teams who would be eligible for a World Fastpitch Championship berth at national qualifying tournaments offering two berths per age class. (No berths will be passed down)

    2. Futures World Fastpitch Championships:

      1. Futures WFC Qualifier Events (events are 9U/10U/11U/13U aged):  Event winners and Runner-Up will be the only teams who would be eligible for a Futures World Fastpitch Championship berth at national qualifying tournaments offering two berths per age class. (No berths will be passed down)

      2. WFC/Futures WFC Qualifier Events (aged 12U/14U):  These events will offer berths to the highest finishing 11U (from 12U division) and 13U (from 14U division) on the event.  Teams must be registered as 11U or 13U to be identified to be eligible for this event. 

  4. At-Large Process

    1. World Fastpitch Championships:

      1. Teams may apply for an at-large berth here: http://www.usaeliteselectwfc.com/atlarge-application

      2. At-Large applications will be accepted August 1 - December 1 during the applicable qualifying season. 

      3. At-large berths are not guaranteed based on application.  Teams will be evaluated by the WFC Championship committee.

      4. Teams will be notified if they have been awarded an At-Large Berth before December 15.

    2. Futures World Fastpitch Championships:

      1. Teams may apply for an at-large berth here:  https://www.futureswfc.com/at-large-application

      2. At-Large applications will be accepted August 1 - December 15 during the applicable qualifying season. 

      3. At-large berths are not guaranteed based on application.  Teams will be evaluated by the Futures WFC Championship committee and will be notified upon acceptance.

 

 

World Fastpitch Championships Qualifying Berth Acceptance Procedure

 

After your team earns a berth (through Qualifier or At-Large), there is a specific process to accept and secure this berth.  Below is the protocol for accepting this berth:

 

Qualifying Berth:

 

Qualifier Events Prior to December 1

 

  1. Signed Acceptance Letter – Due back to USAES 10 days after receipt

  2. $500 Deposit paid (paid online through the USSSA team system) 30 days after receipt.

  3. Remaining Balance of Entry Fee paid by January 1, 2019.

**Team can choose to pay full entry fee instead of two payments if they choose.

 

Qualifier Events After December 1

 

  1. Signed Acceptance Letter – Due back to USAES 7 days after receipt

  2. Entry Fee due (paid online through the USSSA team system) 14 days after receipt.

 

At-Large Berth:

 

  1. Signed Acceptance Letter – Due back to USAES 7 days after receipt

  2. Entry Fee due (paid online through the USSSA team system) 14 days after receipt.

 

All Fees must be paid online via the USSSA online system.  Once you accept your berth, we will place your team into the system and will give you an option to pay for the event online.  Checks will not be accepted for any team payments.

 

 
World Fastpitch Championships Refund Policy

If your team should have to withdraw from the event at any point, here is the refund policy for this event.

 

Before January 1

  • Refund of all fees will be given.  (Deposit + Remaining Entry Fee Balance)

 

January 1 – June 1

  • Teams can request to receive the balance of Entry Fee minus Deposit of $800

  • $500 Deposit will not be refunded.

 

After June 1

  • No monies will be refunded after this date.

Futures World Fastpitch Championships Qualifying Berth Acceptance Procedure

 

After your team earns a berth (through Qualifier or At-Large), there is a specific process to accept and secure this berth.  Below is the protocol for accepting this berth:
