18U Championship Game

July 16, 2016

The rematch of the tournament occurred between the OC Batbuster and Texas Glory, who fought a tough game today at 1:30.

OC Batbusters took home the first place trophy.  Earlier this week they played against each other where Texas Glory won but the Batbusters learned from their mistakes and won the game when it counted. Not to say Texas Glory played a bad game because they put up a great fight.

Texas Glory has been on the road for 11 days straight with no parents just themselves and some softball. “This prepared us for college where we just travel with the team. This also is team bonding time all the time.” Mom of the team says “We also can’t make this game more big of a deal than it is. It’s just another game.” She continues. With #21 pitching and #55 right fielder giving it their all. The plays that were made by these two were outstanding. They did fall short and received second place, now this is nothing to be ashamed of because they worked extremely hard in the championship game and through out the entire tournament.

OC Batbusters took home the first place trophy with stellar pitching and an outstanding defense behind her. Their bats came alive scoring five runs in the championship game. “Do your job” Coach Smith said “They have done their job” Certainly they have all of their hard work leads up to this one game and they came out on top. Batbusters pitcher says “I can hit my spots and know that I have a perfect defense behind me to back me up and not make errors.” With everyone doing their job this tournament they stayed in the winners bracket. Staying in the winners bracket was huge, “Being able to stay in the winner bracket was good for us so we didn’t have to play in the heat. We were able to play our hardest every time.”

With both teams staying in winners bracket, this game was definitely one to watch. All of these girls are heading to play college ball and watching them continue on in careers will be exciting to watch. This has been a tournament full of memories, learning and most of all friendships and bonds that will last a life time. Thank you to all of the teams that came out can not wait to see them next year.
